Briley, crafty in his crime

I suspect that Rob Briley was actually quite crafty in some of his crime. I would expect nothing less.

One issue avoided was when the police finally got him pulled over and were coming up to him with guns drawn. Briley quickly went back to his car and finished his drink previous to his arrest. Tough to prove he was drinking alcohol just from an empty cup. The same could be said of an empty Makers Mark bottle. It could be from months ago thus no open container charge on either count.

Another issue was avoided by refusing his Breathalyzer test as well as refusing a blood test. Briley can blame his erratic driving and behavior on his prescribed medicine (as he has) and not the non prescribed kinds that are highly suspected. This was also used quite effectively by a few other Democrat state legislators in the last few months.

This is already being spun as the case, but Naifeh may have screwed the spin up in the public perception by saying how Briley is an alcoholic who has just gotten out of rehab and was under a great deal of pressure lately.
