Vincent Van gogh was right

Sometimes I think Van gogh was right and you need to cut off your ear. In this case it was the ear to the ground section of the latest Metro Puss I started to get calls this morning on the rumor of Jimmy Duncan the third possibly running against me.

I never get too excited about competition. I like running for office. I feel it is the great place for the battle of ideas and ideals.

Jimmy Duncan III lives in my district and, if he wanted to, I think he would be a formidable opponent. I think many people see him as the person most likely to fill his fathers position in congress when his father decides to step down. He is a good person with a bright future if that is what he is called to do. Still his father has always been a supporter of mine as well and was even so kind as to do a phone call for me and max out on a campaign donation in the last election. I found the rumor a little hard to swallow myself.

About 1:00 today I got a call from him saying he has no intention of running against me. He does not know how the rumor got started but he wanted to be sure that I knew he likes what I have been doing and hopes I keep it up. He also said he had not been getting calls to run against me but when this rumor came out he started getting calls telling him not to.

He even offered to put up a yard sign for me in the next election. That was very kind of him. As people who live around my district know, I love putting up yard signs.

Sorry ear, the story is not here.
