An idea
After finishing up my last post on pre k and thinking about the problems that we really have many times in a childs early education (the parents). A thought came to me that it is the parents that need more education on how to help teach their children and be involved in their child's education then the kids need the education.
I know this idea is not perfect and I would like to end pre k all together, but what do you all think about a half step where we have mandatory classes and school interaction for parents who enroll their kids in pre K? The parents get what they really want (free day care/pre k) and the state gets what they need (a more involved parent in their child's education).
An example could be something like, a parent must go to three classes on a childs education at home previous to enrollment and then must attend at least three pre k classes a semester for the child to get enrolled in the next semester of pre k. No parents, no daycare/pre k.
