Wow! Other people are now looking into ending the teacher tenure system that all but guarantees a teacher a lifetime contract irregardless of performance.
I have always thought teachers should be under the civil service protections instead of the tenure system. Florida is getting close to achieving this. Governor Charlie Crist just vetoed the passed legislation. Some say it was an attempt to pump life into his flailing US senate campaign.
