I was walking down the street in Nashville with fellow reps Bill Dunn, Mike Bell, and Jimmy Matlock the other day. A fire truck pulled up next to us and Bill asked the driver if he could have a ride. The driver smirked and said "No! We don't do that" Bill went on to ask how Rep. Mike Turner got a ride then. The driver said he did not know about that but they were all Republicans in that truck and there were no free rides on the government as far as they were concerned.
I did not ask for a ride. My car was just a few sidewalks away. ;-)
