Hep bill up

4.5 million people have Hepatitis B or C in the US. It often leads to cirrhosis of the liver or cancer and is often deadly. In fact, the death rate from Hepatitis is expected to exceed the death rate from AIDS in a few years.

We already have legislation to punish people who knowingly expose other people to AIDS. In fact it is a felony. Unfortunately, with the cost of imprisonment penalties of that nature are not available at this time. My bill will penalize people who expose others to these diseases with the highest penalty available (without imprisonment).

Will it change everyones life? No. Could it save a few? I hope.
