Public school superintendents have always had the ability to let independent homeschoolers participate in extracurricular activities. This latest development just gets the TSSAA out of the way of telling the school system what they can/can't do (like it's their business). I am guessing none of those independent homeschoolers (who are all registered with the LEA so the county already knows exactly how many/who they are) were ever interested since McIntyre doesn't seem to be aware of that.
