Lady Speaker Beth Harwell made a great first step by limiting the number of trips legislators take to one a year. Personally I think unless you are in higher up leadership it should only allow for trips within the US but still, a great first step. Step two should be to limit the number of days legislators can collect perdiem to days their actual summer study committee gets together plus one or two a month at most.
Some legislators (especially around the Davidson county area) drift into the office waaaaaay more then is necessary just to collect their perdiem.
That needs to stop.
Is there a posted schedule for "summer study"?
