No, this time it will get a different result.....Really!
I think thinking about the definition of insanity (Doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result) is going to drive me insane. We keep propping up the switch grass research facility year after year with the promise of a great return with just a little more research money. We have been doing this since the 70's and look to be headed down the same road for a few more years.

I would like to see the math calculation that provides proof of an ethanol production which creates a self sustaining supply of fuel without increasing fossil fuel consumption. I am told that sugar cane is working. I am also told that industrial hemp may also have that capacity. Otherwise, the switchgrass production numbers appear to be a NET ENERGY LOSS. Until that proof exists, the drag on our national and state economies, in the form of production & mandatory DISTRIBUTION tax subsidies of ethanol diluted fuels, during this current economic crisis, is nothing short of racketeering.
ReplyDeleteThere is no currently known environmental benefit and the cost to vehicle owners in reduced MPGs, at this time, is insane.
I am sorry to have to say it but every political leader who supports these ethanol mandates and subsidy programs, in the current economy, is selling out the public good.
