And I want a puppy!

The governor wants a 20% jump in student test scores in 5 years. While I like high goals we probably have 3 years of clearing out old problems and sorting out bugs in the new systems. I would be happy with 10%.

  1. Well, since you are at approx. 40% proficiency now, that means today's kindergartners would have a 48% chance of being proficient by the time they leave elementary school, IF they meet the goal by then. Your version is only 44%.

Is that worth the $8773 per student per year average we are spending now?

  2. 10th plank of the Communist Manifesto: Free education for all children in public schools

Except, that it isn't really free as you point out.

I do not understand how anyone except an impoverished single parent could turn their child's education over to the State.
