Sheriff's bill dies

My bill to say the state may limit funds for implementation of federal laws that a committee (made up of by the speaker of by the house and the Lt. Governor) felt were not constitutional died today in the Senate judiciary committee. The bill was aimed at possibly being able to not fund certain laws such as arrest and holding of citizens without trial as is laid out in NDAA.

Those voting for the bill were myself, Senator Mike Bell and Senator Mae Beavers.

  1. I'm sorry, but a bill shutting NDAA down as a 10th amendment state right would be much more effective. One sure Mo and Curly don't care to be part of the 3 Stooges w/ you any longer.
