Hmmmmm.

  1. You really shouldn't gloat, Stacey, this could happen to you. Besides, it is not the behavior of a gentleman to rejoice in the misery and misfortune of others. Makes you look real bad.

  2. I think you are misreading my intent.

  3. So, maybe you could tell us what your intent is...

    - To prove that women are no good?

    - To prove that now we don't have to be jealous of Tim Burchett any more?

    - To prove that people who have it good can lose everything?

This man waited forever to find a wife and now, so soon into his marriage, it is ending in divorce. This man's heart has to be broken. I think we need to show him the respect of not embarrassing him even more than he already is.

Lots of people in this town love Tim Burchett. I would think you would be attempting to stand behind him in this, possibly the saddest, most difficult time in his entire life, not making fun of the woman he loved so much that he married! Back before this relationship went all wrong.

Surely you're not one of those people who is incapable of having feelings of sympathy or empathy for others...

    1. Again, I think you misread my intent. Tim is a friend of mine. If it were an issue I would take it down.

    2. So, what was your intent, Stacey?

    3. You shouldn't be afraid to listen to the advice of people who have genuinely cared about you for a long time...

If you have a problem lisening to people, how are you going to be able to represent them in Nashville?

You still haven't told us what your intent was...

    4. Just because I may not agree with you interpretation does not mean I am not listening. I just don't agree with you.

Rest assured there is no ill will intended toward Tim.

Sorry but I don't have to reveal every part of my inner thought process for all the public to see. My reasons are mine alone and satisfactory to me. This is not an issue we will be voting on in Nashville I can pretty well assure you. If it is such a big political issue to you I would be interested in the responses you have received from your state representative.

  5. It is very easy to misread your intent when you don't tell anyone what your intent is.

    What is your intent?

  6. Maybe we should give it a rest, folks. We are so fortunate to have a State Senator of the caliber of Stacey Campfield, that we would do well not to criticze him over a small faux pas. He is only human.

Maybe the reason we find this a little offensive is that Stacey is right about so very many things. He is unwavering and unafraid, when it comes to expressing his Christian faith. Under great persecution, of almost Biblical dimensions, he contiues to stand for and to defend what he knows to be right. His motivations are entirely honorable and he is truly a gentleman we can be proud of in our State Senate.
