Here comes Feinstein again

  1. What kind of insensitive imbecile thinks it's okay to post a picture like this? Do you think it's a joke? Three people dead, one an eight year old child and you think it's something to laugh about? I really hope the people of this state start seeing who you really are and get your disrespectful sorry excuse for a human being out of the state senate!

    1. Nowhere in this post do I see anyone laughing over death. The post is about double standards. May I point out your comment to the senator being a "disrespectful sorry excuse for a human being" is itself disrespectful, a perfect example of a double standard.

NRA logic carried to the full logical fail.

I'm sorry you are a paranoid creep but your guns are a threat to the health of the public. Why the gun fetish and idolatry anyway? What are you scared of? Those black helicopter coming for you John Birchers?

    6. The media and the current administration has been doing the same thing with Sandy Hook and AR-15's for the last 4 months.

Now they want to call a pressure cooker a weapon of mass destruction. To put things into perspective, that's from the same people who think an AR-15 is an assault weapon.

I think it illustrates how ridiculous their ban on scary looking guns is.

    11. Why do you people keep acting as if Campfield is a victim? He's not, he just needs to find a way to stick his foot in that mouth of his sometimes. The people that died in the Boston Marathon were victims, the children who died at Sandy Hook were victims. No amount of political grandstanding is going to change that. He made a comment he shouldn't have (as per the usual) and now he is getting flack for it. Sounds perfectly reasonable to me.

      Delete
    12. Accumulated Apperception needs a new set of accumulated perceptions if he doesn't find this comparison humorous. It's not about the people who died, you silly, silly man! It's about how crazy people (like you) think that guns kill - - just like the pressure cookers killed. See how silly that sounds? Now you know what you sound like to us!

    14. As for insensitive jokes. Vice president Biden made a joke during the slain police officers funeral!!!!!!!!!! YES!!! Soooooooo......???
You want to vote him out too? Vast difference between a blog post and actually telling a joke while speaking at a slain police officers funeral. do you think that was inappropriate? Is Biden a low life scum bag for getting in front of a grieving family and making a joke? why not pull a hissy over that one?

    15. First, I'm a woman. Second, I have never once stated that an inanimate object kills, but that does not excuse the need for regulation. If anyone R or D had made a comment about joke about a gun in the way that this senator has about a pressure cooker then I would and have said the same thing. The point is he is being insensitive and rude and has chosen the Boston Marathon tragedy to do so. Only someone like you would think that it's okay to take the pain of another and turn it into a damn joke. Otherwise, maybe your senator could have actually showed a bit of sympathy to the victims, but no he still thinks it funny!

Liberals have been posting jokes about guns and gun owners. Where is your sanctimonious outrage over that. If you get pissed over the item someone uses to shoot someone you sure as hell should get pissed over the item someone uses as a bomb.

    21. WOW are you guys really that shallow that you can't even read between the lines of this posted photo? Hell I'm not even American, and yet the context as to why this photo was posted, screams out the obvious. First, this Senator is against gun control as many other Americans are. Second, he is driving home a point to y'all that while the powers that be are scrambling to strip you of all your firearms, then maybe they should also ban all pressure cookers as well since it to has been used as a weapon for mass murder. He's simply making a comparison by illustrating the fact that there is really no difference. What he's trying to say is that banning firearms is NOT gonna solve the problems that plague your society and it's sure as hell NOT gonna stop Americas most disturbed psychopaths from venting their inner rage by looking for alternative methods to create mass murder and chaos. Wake up!!!

I can PROMISE you that if every single gun as to disappear tomorrow, gangs would grab the knife and start killing.. Or rope and hang em from the highest tree. Run them over with a car.. Jesus if you don't get that you are worthless.. The point of the picture of the pressure cooker is to show that if you look at something as a weapon, it does not matter what it was made for, only what your intend to do with it.. Your mouth was made for debating, you used it for slander,, DO YOU GET THAT? Probably not. the left has a small blind side, it resembles an ELEPHANT..

    1. The only use for guns is to kill things, and nobody is discussing banning all guns in any case. The laws under consideration were to expand background checks for weapons to gunshows and non-family personal transfers, and to limit magazine sizes to 10 bullets. That's all. Not to take anyone's guns away.

Besides, the pressure cooker wasn't actually used as the weapon as far as we can tell, it was just a convenient way to hold the bomb materials.

      Delete
    2. No, nitwit -- a black powder explosive needs a pressure vessel, or it just goes "pfffft!" and burns fast. Even the rolled paper of a firecracker is a low-grade pressure vessel.

    1. To folks in the gun community, this was hilarious because the horrible application of gun terminology that is used in the media and by politicians was applied to this pressure cooker.

It looks ridiculous to anyone who looks at the picture, especially if they know anything about pressure cookers. What you need to understand is that for those of us who understand and use guns, this is how ridiculous Feinstein, McCarthy, DeGette, and others look when they pontificate on why assault weapons are so evil. Time after time, they use wrong terminology, correct terminology applied to the wrong part of the gun, or just totally make things up about why certain parts of the gun make it "more lethal."

For some reason, they haven't leaped out of their closets to kill you when you go out to pick up the mail.

      Neither has your pressure cooker.

Something else is needed for that ... something like evil intent. Good luck on banning that.

      Delete
    3. SO??? The gun still won't kill unless the human using it uses it to kill. And saying that a gun was created to kill doesn't mean that it's nothing but a murder weapon. They're used every day to kill animals for food, to put down animals on a farm, to defend families and individuals (sometimes by killing bad guys, sometimes just by being shown to them). Others never kill anything since some people buy them only for target shooting.

Yes, the primary, original intent of guns was to kill. Whether they are used for evil or for good depends wholly on the person wielding them. Same goes for pressure cookers which can be made to explode in many ways other than by the use of gunpowder.

Only a Republican could see the carnage in Boston and think it was yet another chance to argue for the right for anyone anywhere at anytime to have a gun - only a gun owner could look at the deaths and crippling of other Americans and see a joke.

  47. Putting all the outrage aside...It's just a completely ludicrous argument. Pressure cookers are made and sold to cook food, that is their purpose. If some maniac decides to modify it to cause mass harm, then clearly that is unfortunate. However, as cooker pressure is not designed to kill. Guns are made to kill. Assault weapons are made specifically to kill people.
Now who should have access to guns and how this all pans out is for the American people to decide. But to use this stupid pressure cooker analogy is dumb and childish, and adds nothing to the debate.

  51. * 1999 - NRA position to support background checks was there when Mr. LaPierre himself stated that NRA saw checks as “reasonable”

    * According to a Johns Hopkins University study, 74% NRA members say they support background checks

    * 91% of Americans think Background Checks is a good idea.

I'm not sure what we are debating. When in our recent history have we ever come to a 91% agreement on anything?

You may have your opinions - but you can't argue with the facts.

  53. Diane Feinstein AGAIN, indeed! Because she's been actually serving with nobility in office for decades, as opposed to the opportunistic tea-filled dirtbag Campfield.

All the rightwingers will have a hearty laugh before returning to their manufactured self-righteous rages and rantings. Ugh, they're so disgusting.

    1. Feinstein is the worst politician to come down the pike in the last 20 years. Why is she still in office at 80 years old? One would think she might want to enjoy life instead of enriching hers and her husbands through kickbacks. Have you heard the drivel coming out of her mouth? Only in this whack state that I live in, could she ever get elected. She is an embarrasment to California and the United States.

  55. 2011 US Statistics

    323 by Assault Weapons
    496 by hammers
    650+ by knives
    12,000+ by drunk drivers
    195,000+ by medical malpractice

States and countries with tight gun control laws, have a far higher degree of homicides. 37 of the top 50 countries in the world, ban all firearms, yet have the highest per capita death by firearm rates (UN data).

In history, guns provided the great equalizer, allowing those that are not the most physically strong, to be on an equal footing with the former centuries of oppression by the powerful and strong. Removing one's ability to defend oneself against a physically superior force, is a major step towards subjugation and oppression. The NRA was formed to fund gun purchases for freed slaves to defend themselves after slavery ended.

100% of all mass shooting in the US in the last 30 years, have been by people that were, or had been, in anti-depressants, operated in gun free zones, and none were conservatives.

Liberals see what they believe; conservatives believe what they see.

  56. Background checks - unless they overturn Health Information Privacy and Accountability Act - will not contain the information to meet the stated objectives. Even the ACLU is opposed to this, as they fought - successfully - years ago, to get the mentally unstable, as well as criminally insane, allowed back on the streets.

There is a National Information Criminal System for background checks already in existence, although the data within it is constrained by other laws. Fix what is in place - we don't need more laws, we need the handcuffs removed from existing tools.

Having the tools in place, with garbage data, will produce garbage results.

  57. Hear hear!! We should ban spoons, they make us all fat. Lets not forget to ban knives before someone goes on a stabbing rampage. Cars, get rid of those, someone may run into a crowd. May as well have your fists surgically removed, don't want you to bludgeon someone to death with those. No more sharp sticks, trees are hearby banned, no more baseball, crowd may go bonkers and "batty". I hear nothing but ignorant reasons to allow our rights to be removed. You want gun violence to end? Hang yourself and it's not a problem anymore. In fact, you will solve quite a number of problems. World hunger will go down a smidge, the collective intelligence of this country will go up, there will be less waste, less air pollution, less noise pollution and in the end you will also help with population control. So please, if you are tired of the gun violence, I'm sure you can buy a bit of rope from the hardware store, if you are unsure as to how to tie a noose: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJwsJXbS_Ok

  62. The Second Amendment, as the rest of the Bill of Rights, is an acknowledgement of our natural born rights, not a granting. The entire Bill of Rights is about keeping the governments in their place. The Second Amendment is about the common person's right to own weapons of war so that we can keep the governments in their place by keeping the 'monopoly on force' in the hands of the people where it belongs, as in 'We the people.' Remember that? It will not be infringed any further and the 'gun laws' in existence will be repealed. End of discussion.
Guns don't kill, governments do. Gun free zones are the problem, they allow armed criminals to kill. Arm the teachers, the administrators and the parents. Don't allow the "Liberal"(commie) trash who control the so-called educational system to teach mindless pacifism that is ensconced in their arrogance of false civility.
If we have violent criminals in prison who have been convicted of a crime and can't be trusted with weapons why is the govt. turning them back out on the street? So they can point at them and say "See, the sheeple can't be trusted with guns." The 'crime' argument is a red herring.
Time to repeal all of the ‘gun laws’ including GCA ‘68 and the NFA; Shut down the evil BATF Nazis and try them for treason, and murder where appropriate and distribute their retirement funds among their victims; Then enforce the Bill of Rights on places such as Commiefornia and New Yawk and Chigawgo and if necessary bring the troops home and have them restore Liberty here and remove Amerika’s natural born traitors in the process.
Millions will dig the ditch they are told to dig then wet their pants when the machine gun bolts slam home and die stupidly wondering “How did this happen to me?” The tiny minority will have to do what will be required.
It’s time to stop arguing over the culture war. It’s time to stop hunkering down for the apocalypse. It’s time to stop waiting to get beamed up. It’s time to start thinking Normandy.
If you sit home waiting your turn you deserve to have your gun taken from your cold dead hands.
The Founders didn’t wait for the Brits to knock down their doors. They gathered at the green and stood up like men and they killed government employees all the way back to Boston.
What will you do when it’s time to hunt NWO hacks, republicrats and commies(“Liberals” and ‘progressives’)?
Don't understand? Go to willowtowndotcom and read the quotes page first. Then read my column "Prepping for Slavery."

  63. You liberals make no sense. You want to ban guns, however, you call police, who are armed with...lets hear it, GUNS! And you pukes actually count on the police to save you? It takes between 10 to 30 minutes on average for police to arrive to the common armed burglary call. It takes only 2 seconds to change all that being armed with a gun. Most of you actually believe that by taking away law abiding citizens guns, that criminals will do the same? Criminals already get guns illegally as it is, either by stealing or buying illegally. And now you're going to throw a fit over a pressure cooker joke? Immediately after Sandy Hook, everyone was all on board about banning guns, however if some of those teachers had been armed, it never would have happened. To stop bad people with guns, you have to have good people with guns, yet you throw all gun owners into the same pot as criminals, and that's an unfair and completely uneducated assumption, and if anyone thinks for just a second that you'll ever have a chance of getting American gun owners to willingly hand over our firearms, you are sadly mistaken. If it wasn't for firearms, this country would not even EXIST. Next to God and Liberty, guns are a namesake of this country. Even IF Congress were to pass an anti-gun law, it would be in defiance and blatant disregard of the Second Amendment of the United States Constitution, therefore, it would not be a enforceable or followable law, so in turn, it would be deemed null and void. And I promise you all this, and call me wrong if you want, but history has and always will continue to repeat itself, and if we give up the Second Amendment, there's nothing left to stop them from taking the rest. One quote I would like to reference to that seems appropriate for this situation, is that the beauty of the second amendment is that it is not needed, until they try to take it away. In conclusion, I would like to give you all a reality check, if for a minute you truly believe that all these massacres and tragedies are not coincidental and smell staged to high heaven, and that our own government could not become corrupt and usurpative, then you just do not know your history. Everything that is happening, everything that our leaders are doing, is pushing us further and further away from a Constitutional Republic (for those of you who don't know your American history, we are NOT a democracy, we are a Constitutional Republic), and closer and closer towards Socialism. I have no hope for people who believe everything the Major news networks and their government tells them. The reason we have the rights that we do now is to prevent a government from enslaving it's people.
